GENERAL POLICY STATEMENT

Nebo Credit Union, its employees, officers and staff are committed to protecting our members' right to privacy and security. Any and all information collected by Nebo Credit Union, its employees, officers and staff, in the course of normal daily operations, will be used only as prescribed by the appropriate Federal and State statutes that govern member information use and privacy.

Sources and Types of Collected Nonpublic Personal Information

Nebo Credit Union its employees, officers and staff may collect nonpublic personal information from the following sources:

  • -Information we receive on applications and other forms.

  • -Information about transactions with CUNA Mutual Group or us.

  • -Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency.

  • -Information obtained when verifying the information members provide on applications or other forms. This may be obtained from their current or past employers, or from other institutions where the member may conduct financial transactions.

  • -Nebo Credit Union reserves the right to disclosure of all the information we collect, as described above, as permitted by law.

Parties who may receive information from us

Nebo Credit Union may disclose nonpublic personal member information to the following types of third parties:

  • -Financial service providers, such as insurance companies, mortgage service companies, and securities broker-dealers.

  • -Non-financial companies, such as consumer reporting agencies, data processors, check/share draft printers, financial statement publishers, plastic card processors, non-profit organizations, and government agencies.

Nebo Credit Union may work closely with third parties to offer products and services to meet member needs. As a result, we may also share the members' nonpublic personal information with other institution as permitted by law.

Disclosure of Information to Parties That Provide Services to us

In order to conduct the business of Nebo Credit Union, employees, staff and officers may disclose all of the information collected, as described above, to companies that perform marketing or other services on the credit unions behalf or to other financial institutions with whom Nebo Credit Union has joint marketing agreements so that the credit union may provide members competitive products and services. Nonpublic personal information about our members may be disclosed only under circumstances as permitted or required by law. These disclosures typically will include information to process transactions on the members behalf, conduct the operations of Nebo Credit Union, follow the members instructions as they authorize, or protect the security of the Credit Unions financial records.

To protect our members' privacy, Nebo Credit Union, employees, officers and staff will only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections and limit the use of information Nebo Credit Union provides. Under no circumstances will Nebo Credit Union permit these companies to sell the information provided by the credit union, to other third parties.

Annual Disclosures and Opt Out Notice

In accordance with applicable federal and state statutes, Nebo Credit Union will annually send a Privacy Disclosure and (if applicable), an Opt Out Notice to all members with the 2nd quarter share statement mailing. Joint non-member account holders are eligible to exercise the same rights, upon request, to opt out as Member account holders. These elections are to be kept on record, both electronic and paper, readily accessible upon member request.

The right to opt out, by law, does not apply to disclosures legally permitted or disclosures we make to companies that perform services on our behalf or to other financial institutions that have joint marketing agreements with Nebo credit Union.

How member and non-members are to exercise the Opt Out Election

The opt out election must be made in writing using the form provided by the credit union, or if not using the provided form, must include the following information:

  • -Member or non-member name.

  • -Statement that they have read the Privacy Disclosure and Opt Out Notice provided by the credit union, and would like to exercise their right to opt out, as permitted by law.

  • -Must list either or both Nonpublic Personal Information, Credit Report Information as the opt out choices.

  • -Must list specific accounts (identifying numbers) they want to opt out on.

  • -Must be signed and dated by person electing to opt out.

Revocation of opt out election

All members and Joint non-members have the right to revoke their opt out election. Upon request, in writing, Nebo Credit Union will promptly act to revoke the opt out election.

How Information is Collected and Used

The paragraphs that follow disclose the information gathering and dissemination practices for www.nebocreditunion.org, our E-Teller Internet home financial services product, and associated Internet products.

Nebo Credit Union collects the following information for the purposes of contacting our members to provide requested products and information, marketing of other credit union products and services, reporting of web statistics, member verification, and product and equipment monitoring to improve services.

  • -TCP/IP/DNS, Access time, date and duration.

  • -Failed log-on attempts

  • -Username

  • -Password

  • -Information about the accessing computer's Hardware and software.

  • -E-mail address

  • -Clickstreams

  • -All information from online forms on our site.

To enhance the personalization and performance of a credit union member's experience, our E-Teller Internet home financial services product may utilize cookies (very small files that a website sends to the member's browser for record-keeping purposes).

Cookies function as identification cards, recording user preferences & other information. Browsers can be set to deliver a message when a cookie has been sent, allowing the member to decide whether to accept or reject it.

Our Commitment to Information Security

Nebo Credit Union's Internet home financial services product is encrypted and has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of information. All sensitive transactions use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encrypted network transmissions. Physical access to critical systems and network components is limited to specifically authorized personnel. Backups of data stores are maintained in off-site locations. Information obtained online is not sold to third parties.

Our website contains links to other websites. Nebo Credit Union is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of the linked websites and encourages members to read the privacy statement of all linked websites to become acquainted with their specific privacy practices.

Penalties for violation of Privacy Policy

Any violation of this policy by employees, officers and staff of Nebo Credit Union can result in immediate dismissal from Nebo Credit Union and possible criminal prosecution by Nebo Credit Union and or the appropriate federal or state law enforcement agencies.

Credit Report Inquiry

I/We hereby authorize Nebo Credit Union to obtain a consumer credit report through a credit reporting company chosen by Nebo Credit Union. I/We understand and agree that Nebo Credit Union intends to use this consumer credit report for purposes of evaluating my/our financial readiness to repay a loan. I/We understand that this credit report will be retained on file at Nebo Credit Union and that the information will not be disclosed to anyone without my/our prior written consent.
